Hi, I'm a bit of a newbie espesially to new Fords. I know a fair bit about old v8's but electronics are a bit new to me, however I can understand a bit 'cos I'm a signal/control electrician by trade. Anyway my BA GTP 290 is pushing steam out the expansion tank. Temperature seems normal and all of a sudden, there she blows!!! By the way, she appears to only have water in her, not green/coloured coolant. Only had her a ferw weeks and I have Ford warranties all the way up the wazoo so any help much appreciated before I make a big thing of it. Please, anyone?
:?:

P.S. I drove about 300 km around town then 800 km up the highwsy with no dramas.
Are these vehicles known to have radiator (coolant expansion tank) cap problems? Do the caps wear out?

if the coolents not green, you might want to chuck some in. will stop the boiling.

bit odd for a new car under warranty not to have coolant in it, isnt it? id be heading into ford to get some put in coz knowing ford when the cooling system rusts out they will say it happend coz there was no coolant/ corrosion inhibitor in the water.
