hi guys, i have a au series 2 fairmont auto 6 and my plan for the car is to convert it to manual and put in a boss quadcam v8 and 6 speed manual box from a ba/bf xr8.
has this kind of conversion been done before and is it even possible?
if it is possible what kind of modifications would i need to do to get the engine and box in?
any help would be great thanks

It will fit the AU bay which is basically the same as a BA, bonnet clearance may be an issue.
The way to do it would be to buy a donor BA to use the entire harness. It's a big job....I'd just buy a BA V8 Fairmont in the first place.

The photo shows just how compact the 302 windsor really is. I'm re-powering a V6 3.8 Mustang with a 5.0 and I get an extra 1.5 inches "space" on either side of the engine. And the 3.8 wasn't even OHC, it was OHV.
