If you have cooling problems it's usually caused by another problem with your cooling system not the underdrives themselves.
I have used many sets of these on many different cars and none have any problems of any kind including my my current BA Pursuit.
Some people have charging problems but it's usually because they have too much draw on their system already. Get the 3 piece set and you're laughing. Best bang for the buck out there.

+1 to XR9UTE comments. I just fitted the kit to my BF and it has definitely given me more power and no side effects at all. The water may pump slower but this gives it more time to cool down in the radiator and my air con is just as powerful as it was (albeit a noisey fan at the moment but this has only just started happening 3 days ago) had kit fitted for a month or 2 now. My engine temp is still exactly the same as it was before the kit and im still using the same thermostat. Power sterring is still exactly the same as well

Cheers

Phil

Go for it, pretty good bang for buck. I find at idle the Voltage tends to be a little on the lower side, not into the red type stuff, just a little lower than when driving.

well gettin underdrives will have no effect on your cooling system at all coz wen you get the smaller diamiter balancer you get a larger diamiter water pump pully. so you can use the same drive belt.
If you just use the smaller balancer your drive belt will be too short.
And with the larger water pump and smaller harmonic pulleys your water pump will be driven at the same speed.

I've run them for about 4 years now without any dramas.

As has been said, they are a good bang-for-buck mod and if you want better bang-for-buck, then try PM-ing XH5LWEPN, as I'm sure he has a couple of sets lying about that he may want to get rid of for a bit cheaper.

I had them on my el xr8, at idle my voltage droped alot, made lights dimm, no probs with cooling or power steer, i put standard alt pulley on and bumped idle up a little and all was good, recently i took them off but i still have charge problems so i assume its alt or battery.

Don't expect much in performance but there is something, definately good bang for buck.

You will need new balancer bolts, allen key ones as the head is smaller and wont hit on the rim of the pulley

Al

You should use the alt pulley in the kit. It's slightly smaller and actually speeds the alternator back up.

I was actually given a tip from XTT909 when I had the underdrives on my lane to use a BA alternator pulley. It is smaller again then the underdrive one and there was no charging issues at all then.
It worked that well I fitted one to the XR8 which is running the standard setup at the moment and it is great.
It will most definately be staying put when I put the underdrives on the XR.

Sorry, the ones i have are second hand and are also Ford Motorsport items. They will most likely make there way back on as i'm just chasing a few gremlins at the moment.
I like that BA pulley idea....
