I have a set on my xr8. They look awesome when new way better than the crappy standard blue colour. Can't say that i have taken that much notice as to whether they fade or not. I will have a look on tuesday when I finally get my car back. Try giving the guys at Exhaust Technology a call, they are great to deal with and they know their stuff. 82727500

$900 from memory i reckon. Think it was $600 and an extra $300 to get them coated. This was from a different exhaust place then the one above though. I wasn't real happy with the original job that I had done and I needed it changed when I lowered the car so I took it to exhaust technology and they did a great job. They are awesome to talk to and they even let you watch while they work.

No they are not, the factory headers on a AU are very very restrictive, if you take a look you will see were each pipe is bolted to the head it is pinched or square were it should be round, also if you have see the factory header off a car you will see what i mean, as well were the 4 pipes come into one they are also square should be round like after market ones, that’s why ford v8s the 302w on the e series and the AU fly when the factory hears have been replaced with after market ones.

hey mate, thanks heaps for the recomendation. gave them a buzz today, sounds like a nice bloke who knows what he is on about. he managed to steer me away from lukey and head towards magnaflow or the likes so once the pacies turn up ill book her in and go on a road trip. thanks heaps man :D

No worries mate while you are there you should go next door and check out kpm. That place just makes me want to spend all my money. With my car I am running a twin 2 1/4 stainless system. Obviously I have the ceramic coated pacemakers. After that I have twin high flow cats. It then goes into a Magnaflow xpipe and then I have a Magnaflow box on each side. It then goes out to twin 3 inch tips. I am pretty happy with it. It is fairly quiet on idle which I don't mind as it keeps the cops away. When cruising it just sounds nice, not drony and not too loud for long trips. The best bit is when you put the boot in it really opens up quite nicely. I found that I had a decent torque increase after getting this done and that was after having the el gt extractors and a single 3 inch. If you want an all out ear piercing note then maybe check out a different brand as I have heard louder but Magnaflow suits me just fine. Good luck with it all.

Also those Magnaflow pieces are 2.5 inch as the first place I got them from reckoned they couldn't get 2.25 inch. Don't know how true that is though.

lol, know what you mean bout being in places that make the money fall out ya pockets. thats why im not going into kpm, i see chrome shiny bits and before i know it im buying them. im not after a realy loud note, its loud enough as it is with the single 2.5inch mandrel bent stainless system with 1 straight through genie muffler and no resinator.im not real fussed bout changing the sound, im swaping the elgt extractors for the ceramic pacies cos thats bout the last thing i can do to try and make some more power without removing intake and heads again and i like the idea of the reduced surface temp and i thaught i might aswell get a new muffler while im at it

Oh well probably best that you stay away from there anyway because they do superchargers as well.
