I have a 1995 5.0L NF Ford Fairlane which sometimes gets a bit of a fuel smell inside the car, I can't find any fuel leaks and think that it may be the charcoal canister causing the problem.
I went to an auto shop, they have no canisters, so I went to Ford and they said that they have discontinued them.
I know it is a common problem with ef el falcons and fairlanes etc.
What can be done to fix this problem?
Can they be rebuilt or use one from a different car?

I remember there was a problem with some canisters where they were connected back to front from the factory. Just an idea to check.
