mellings, HV, and plueprint the pump before you install it (disassemble it, check clearances, remove casting flash, etc)

dont use a high volume oil pump unless your using high revs constantly as well as having a restructor kit fitted to the block. a side effect of using a high volume oil pump is twisting/snapping the pump drive shaft. am using a standard oil pump in my 351 and regulary sees 5500 rpm and no problems

Yea get better pump drive andHi energy sump and you'll be o/k...
With the hi volume..The pressure is the same so load is nearly the same..It's just the relief valve works harder when cold..It will mainatain better oil pressure at lower rpm when hot...
