Gday,
Just wondering what the go is with the paint on the inlet manifold and rover covers of the EB-AU V8s. Mine is definately far from silver- its more of a light green/bronze look but not sure if this is from heat over time or if they actually painted the parts different colours. I've got a V8 plate to go over the upper intake from an AU but its silver and looks out of place on the green coloured manifold. Does anyone know how to restore this back to the proper silver look or would it require painting?

I've had a look through the profiles and some people's manifolds are silver, and others are the silvery green.

cheers

I'm out at work at the moment until next week and don't have my car here to take a photo of the engine, but had a look through a few profiles and it is like orloxis's engine photo in his gallery - http://www.fordmods.com/forums/image.ph ... 4&maxw=640

note the colour of the upper intake on his - mine is the same.

cheers

Ah right. I have no idea why its greenish... I don't believe Ford ever painted any of their intakes any color whatsoever, IMO it just looks a little grimey!

Looks like discoloured clear coat, car dealers commonly coat the engine/engine bay etc
