Can't recall hearing of a "drop-down based" air cleaner, cant seem to find any pics of just the air cleaner itself, would you happen to have any?

Wouldnt be too keen on having the air cleaner 100% under-bonnet either due to the air temperature in there, so I guess I'll have some form of scoop in the end.
Im so fussy...

Aircleaner base's have varying drops. You can get them with no drop, 1 7/8" and 2" drops. I'm sure there are others.

If your going to get a Ford racing crate engine based on a 351w...this is the one you want;
http://www.eagleautoparts.com.au/M-6007-C392.htm
475hp is conservative Ive seen this engine make 535hp in dyno tests all without going over 6000rpm.
If you go cleveland you can't go wrong with Pavtec for sure.
Or you can buy a World products 427w or 460w short engine and use the CHI 3V 218 heads like brenx has. CHI has intakes to suit the 9.5" deck windsor blocks. You'll have to(depending on cam size) fly cut your pistons for valve clearance with C heads on a W block.
World is a U.S. company.
Their shorts are about $7000ea. BTW they do a 375ci 8.2" deck windsor which will be much more compact(lower) than a C(9.2" deck) or 351w based(9.5" deck) engine. Trouble is they all cost 7K. So it's a case of 7K for 375ci or 7K for 427 or 460ci.....I know what I would have :lol:

If using Kosteki? Plan to get to know your bank manager very well.

Just to hijack the thread for a bit........
I always thought the emissions on any non standard engine fit had to matcjh the newer part regardless of engine or car.ie if you put a BA XR8 motor in an XD, all the polution gear from the BA had to go in as well?

That's why fiding with late model cars becomes pointless.

You get what you pay for. Most purchasers will already have some if not all of the accesories.

There is no external "pollution gear" on a BA except for evaporitive emissions gear (which even XB's had) and cats in the exhaust. They are so efficient they don't need EGR or Thermactor emission control.
You need the BA PCM to control the engine or an EECV from a U.S. modular engine which is all do-able. The biggest problem is chopping the shock towers out so the damn thing will fit.
