Of course E7's are out of the question. Throw them straight in the bin.

The GT40P/X/Y all have potential, and of course worked GT40 style heads compared to worked aftermarket heads will probably see the aftermarket heads come out ahead.. but the question is value for money.. you could be left with a few $K in your pocket, and only be behind by a few KW. If 190-210RWKW aint enough for you then maybe the next step is a blower.

I learnt the hard way with the 4L that N/A is a dead end street for performance. This doesnt apply to the 5L with quite as much strength, but its something to think about.

i couldnt be happier with 210rwkw :P but how hard would it be to find some of these heads, they didnt come out on any ford model that im aware of.
it just dawned upon me i could always shop overseas with the aussie $ being strong i am sure i will save some money importing the parts myself

The TFS intake i was quoted on can be bought for ~ US $395 or ~ AU $498. Given the recent customs duties changes where the limit is now $900 i should be able to get one shipped in for considerably less than $1k.agree?

cheers

Porting aftermarket heads shouldn't cost too much as its more of a tidy up...
The TE50's run GT40P heads [ported by y/t] and there output at wheels has been as high as 240 rwkw....

AFR 185's 2031 cam, Edel RPM inlet, 65 throttle body, 24 or 30 Lb? injectors and 76mm maf can make over 200 rwkw on 5 ltr....

Just giving you some other ideas. I got a near complete AU XR8 engine for alot less than $1650.. that gives me the GT40P heads, cam, roller rockers and a virgin 302w to begin the 347 install. With the left over money I can put it towards other go-fast parts.

Depends on how much a good porter/ machinist charges ?? Then add to that better valve gear etc etc...But again it depends on how serious you are or what power levels ...Inlet and other gear you have? If you are using any Ford inlets just port the GT p's...
When comparing aftermarket to Std heads the whole head and valve train has to be compared...Roller cams need Top line valve springs, double springs if using performance cam...

Yes nearly ALL heads esprecially street heads require double valve springs...

That name sounds familiar..
Do you have contact details for his workshop?
