Hi all. I have an eb 5l shaking like hell. Pull the codes,,,,, Hard code 7
keeps showing up.
Have compression of 145 psi all round.
Have changed injectors with ones from a moter running smooth.
Have changed plugs.
Also hard code 34 and memory 66 & 34.
Any clues would be good as have spent lots of time
Also fuel pressure about 38 . 40 with reg hose off
Thanks

66 is- maf sensor open circuit
this would cause the rough idle.
34 is - evp voltage above closed limit
Dont quote me but i think the evp has something to do with emissions and or the egr valve :?
As for the 7 code, there arent any codes below the number 10 according to my manual(max ellerys)

It's probably the vehicle I.D. code 70. This code will come up first.

Thanks for replies... My 66 code is I think MAF sig low.
34 - EVP or PFE is/was low

As for the 7 i thought there was no 0 in codes so 7 could be 07, -- No. 7 failed balance test.
Only learning so ..
Dont think 34 is a big prob right now or am i wrong?

Codes come out............. .....1- 7 - 34 = hard
1- 34 - 66 = memory
Green Car.. If 66 is MAF how do i test maf. or how do one clean a maf

XR9UTE...... Sweet 351. you recon is engine code or No. 7

Include photo of engine . Thanks.. What do the two wires do going to the injectors do / one would be a signal the other would be ? power?

I would clean the maf with electrical contact cleaner and if that made no difference maybe check the voltage if you can find the specs(i cant) or better still if you could get hold of a working one to see if that is the problem.
The 34 code says it shows no symptoms so maybe its not that important.
the manual also says the 34 code may be caused by-
vacuum line fault
egr filter valve blocked
evp sensor fault
egr sensor fault
ecu fault
egr solenoid fault
hope that helps.

Hi again, bought a can of contact cleaner today. so will clean maf when time permits. It was a basic question about inj wiering . so all injectors should have 12v on one side. I can check that too.
Also I have checked engine loom conectors { salt & pepper}
So next step.. clean maf. Work will get in the way of that but i.ll report the results.. Many Thanks

Yea Tom, like when I rev it, Pretty bad, I agree with what you are saying. Have checked torque converter is tight looking for inbalance.
Also once or twice engine has run almost perfectly. No shake or vibe.
A change.
Buying new balancer and fit on weekend mabey.
Thanks for the thought, Picture of injector change.

Good work. Good to see someone doin a comp test too. Theres alot to be said for goin back to basics ay. Considering the `up the garden path` diagnostics around. But hey who needs 600 horsepower on Mastercard? Not me thats for sure. Thats a wicked car man. Cant say it enough.

I hope that garden path diagnostics thing wasnt aimed at me because i only gave him the fault codes he told me, and offered the advice the manual says.
