I have just fitted a 5L into XW sedan. has anyone else done this.
also engine rotation seems to be reverse from clev / old windsor
any comments welcome. will post pics soon

i have heard of it being done but i have not seen pics hope yah post some soon i would like to see

Nope engine direction is the same. The only engines that were reversed were special marine jobs but these were 351's.

Willtryto post pics today.... found out engine rotation is OK. Fan runs reverse because of serpintine belt........ it tricked me.
Now have engine running, nice to know as I have choped out a lot of EB wiring harness that was unnecessry,,,,

How does she go with this donk in her, compared to whatever she had in her before??

Even if it was a 302 before, it should go a fair bit better now I would think??

Havent given it a run yet. still doing mechanicals & paint but recon it will do reasonable. Waiting to pick up a 3.5 9inch.

Will a later series diff fit under an XY??

Only asking as, unless you are planning BIG horsepower, a 9" is totally unecessary and will actually be a massive horsepower parasite.......

Yea. I knew I,d lose some advantage just by the weight of 9 inch.
Just would have bolted straight in and looked ok.
I do have a eb v8 (are they different to the six) lsd. Now I,ll have to look at what width it is. Other than that it would fit with spring saddles welded to it. {leaf spring compared to watts link}
Still plenty of other work to do while I think about it though.
