Well, jacked the car up today to put the headers on, got the old headers off, sweet as. While looking down into the gap i notice the engine is sitting pretty odd, look at the engine mounts.....completely buggered  bit's of cracked rubber everywhere and they wobble more than a fat chicks tits.

My question, Where in Oz is the best place to get them, dollars wise? I can only get them from Ford here in NZ and at $400 a piece, they can keep them.

Next question, I'm guessing they have to be EB/ED specific, will EF/L fit? I can get my hands on a pair of brand new AU mounts for $110, but they look way too different.....

Any tips? Have browsed eBay but no luck, only I6 versions.

EF/EL mounts are not 6 or 8 specific, message a_total_tool, he has alot of info on this. he has been sourcing bits and is up to date on prices and avalability.

Well, from what i have learned today, EF onwards aren't 6/8 specific, they use the small stack (looks like a can) with the two prongs on the top as a mount, The EB/ED are 6/8 specific, have no idea what the 6's are like, but the 8's use those rubber mounts.

Forum member XaFalcon sells rebuilt ones (re-poured/molded) for $110 a piece. Seems pretty good, although i would still prefer new items.

Will be ringing a contact at BNT tomorrow to see what he can do. Will let you know how i get on

Well, they are about $380 the pair from Ripco, $400 a piece from Fraud. I opted for $40 for second hand ones with a three year warranty. Was the best option if you ask me

Damn, that's expensive. I was quoted $135 a pop (each) from Repco for the EB/ED v8 mounts, as i think i have to replace them in my white Xr8.

Cheers

AU V8 mounts are $200 each from repco.

Bloody rip. They are far different and stronger to AU I6 mounts though.

So tell me again, the EF/EL are the same, Bonus, the 6 i brought for the serpentine conversion came with mounts, so that solves my passenger mount for the 8.

Brett, I can 100% confirm you can use the engine mount including the can. Jaysen salvaged one of his V8 mounts to be used with my I6 cause teh passenger side mount was flogged out.

Still owe him a mount too. If you got a spare can you give it to him and let him know its from me? I'll owe ya one.

Dave

I know of some brand new in the box AU mounts for sale if needed, not by me, but they were $100 NZ. The guy has tried selling them a few times.

Son of a b**ch sent me the wrong mounts, i got all geared up, fizzing at the bung, frothing at the hole etc etc looking at my parcel containing the engine mounts that arrived today....open her up.... I6 mounts. They sent me friggin I6 mounts... ??!@?!???!?@!?

Now i have to wait another week while i send the things back and get the correct set. God damn it
