Hi Guys,

Just looking for some recommendations for a decent cam for my car, its standard with extractors and exhaust.

Just looking for something that will give a nice sound and pretty well go straight in.

Cheers

overall theres the e303,tfs1 and i think 2030 cam all of which would increase the performance and the sound cant go wrong really but i would suggest new valve springs as the factory ones are deadset shockers.

Drop an E303 in there, set it up 4 deg advanced, drop in some new valve springs, you NEED new valve springs. The E303 has a great note, the others may too, but I know the E303 does.

You still runing the E7 heads? I would be spending money on heads before a cam.

My weapon of choice cam wise will be E303 when it comes to it.

I think the TFS1 cam is a great choice and it has a fantastic sound.
The standard ECU will still be able to adapt to it and with a decent exhaust and air intake increase, you will have a very nice increase in power, all the way through the rev range.

Yh i got scaffys youtube clip saved so i can listen to it idle lol, i know that the e303 would make some good power but seeing as the tfs1 cam is made for my heads its whats pushing me more so in that direction.

Of course if you want a great sound you want an F303. It's the biggest you can use without having to notch pistons.

Figured I'd bump this thread. My EB is getting pulled down very soon, and I'm considering a cam swap. Would the E303 work well with ported E7's until I get my hands on a set of GT40P's, or is it not worthwhile at this stage? The ported E7's are already on the car, so it's not like I'm wasting money porting them myself. Looking at Cost vs Benefit. I've also got Pacemakers, Twin 2.25" into single 3" exhaust, Explorer manifold and a 65mm Throttle body.

Comp Cams XE270HR-14 would be my pick. It will out power any of the other grinds listed above with better street manners and decent idle.

Same recommendation with my RHS heads Dave? Iron RHS 200cc's.

Actually that'd work pretty nicely. I was looking last night if there was anything slightly larger than the 270. With the 200 RHS head I'd have a look at the XE270HR-12 (35-324-8). I would however recommend a small (2500-2800) hi-stall to go with it.

Cheers, a stall has always been on the cards, I've been leaning towards a 2800-3000rpm converter.
