ok well i'm buying a new car, not too worried about price, but really like the late 90's Xr8's, question is whether to get series II EF or an EL, am going to get manual also for sure.

Help me out with some reasons of why i should get one or the other. thanks

EL.
They look better, the interior is nicer, the kit is more aggressive, and if you find an ELII you get 185kw.

I agree, EL.
The main reasons i bought an EL over an EF, was the interior trim is somuch nicer. You also don't have those black buttons on the dash, cluster looks better. But mainly because the front looks so much more aggressive. (Actually it was mainly cause of the interior seat trim!)

Yep i'd have to say EL aswell, all the way.

Agree with the above, interior is much nicer & the front looks alot meaner, although i do think a good mod to an EL is to fit EF taillights.

Also do your best to find an EL series 2, the 185kw engine is a much better starting point for mods.

Saying that though, If you are going to go the whole hog motor wise, then maybe a EF as a cheaper starting platform.

Gotta admit though If I had my time again I woulda bought an EL.

there pretty similar but i like the EL front grill, the lights look much nicer not flaten off like the EF. You also get more power if you get the EL II as said before

EL2. The EF looks horrible. And yes get a manual (hurting my own resale value here - stupid auto).

The EL headlight shape is nicer, and the EL is a better starting base, but there plenty of EFs getting around with an EL front kit these days.

Finding one in either model in good nick in manual with decent kms will be your challenge.

Good luck.

Another vote for the EL. If you plan on changing heads and intake anyways, go the series 1 as it should be slightly cheaper. But no electric windows in the back. I assume the series 2 has them?

Its good only having 2 power windows. There's two less electric window regs to f**k up!
Stupid Ford power windows.
