hello all, I may have missed this issue in other posts but any way..
I have an 1995 EF Tickford XR8 auto, and every now and then it won't start, when I crank it the little red "(!)" light lights up on the dash, the only way I can get it to start is by moving the transmission shifter back and fourth between park and all the other gears and then it will start, but it is getting worse and now almost won't start at all, is it a switch of some sort on the transmission that may be faulty???? it is acting as if the car is always in gear, hence not starting, any ideas?????? thank you, Aaron.... |

Looks like you need to replace the safty starter switch on the gearbox

How did you find out it will only start if you change gears just out of curiousity?
