The 5.0 is a 50oz external balance, and the 351W roller is a 28oz.

Your kit should specify what balance you need. If changing to a 28oz then i would suggest getting the entire rotataing assemble (balancer/crank/rods/pistons and flexplate/flywheel) all balanced as a matched set. Any good machine shop should be able to do this for your and your should see change from 500 for that.
Cheers
Brett

The short motor im looking at says its 28oz externally balanced assembly. Im not sure if its is fully balanced or what the go is. I have never brought a short motor like this before.

Ask them? If it's new it's likely had a proper balance with a 28oz flywheel and 28oz balancer in place. Ask them what tolerance it was balanced to?
Personally I'd prefer to buy the engine with these components still attached...that way you know it's a complete balanced assembly.

It's NOT balanced then !!!

It's the counterweight of the crank that determines what balance it has....
28 is better than 50... 50 are all roller motors or EFI in Aust...
Most stroker crank assemblies can be neutral balanced too..

Actually it is balanced and the tolerance 1/2oz. This is about as good as you can hope for with a new engine that is not supplied with flywheel or balancer.

Yeah but this is a DART block assembly built by DART. This place is just a reseller of them the cost of it plus freight from USA would work out roughly the same as the price from the place.
