If you get 18-19 litres around the city i would say your 02 sensors needs replacing and check your aircleaner too.
A cold air intake will always help a bit with fuel economy.
You may need to spend a few dollars to get it up to spec but you may also sell it then :D

RINGS. EXCESS BLOWBY = RINGS, PISTON TO BORE CLEARANCE WILL BE EXCESSIVE TOO.THE BLOKE WHO DIDNT BUY IT MADE A GOOD DECISION. IT NEEDS A REBUILD. PUT SOME 20/50 IN IT AND FLOG IT IF YOU DONT WANT TO SPEND ANY MONEY ON IT. IF ITS CLAPPED OUT IT WILL DRINK FUEL TOO.

Maybe too much crankcase pressure? How is PCV valve? A cheap way to test that is to add a breather.

Wow cant believe some people's comments about this.

Well if you intend to sell it knowing full well that the motor is stuffed, and you dont tell the new owner i hope karma rewards you.

Mate i was duped when i purchased my ebxr8, it ran fine sounded nice the auto shifted good and i though $2500 what a bargain .

Then diff bearings went, radiator went, auto went the motor over heated then started to use oil then it started blowing smoke all within first 3 months of ownership .

The knob who owned it before me did very well to hide its faults.

I wish bad karma on anyone who does a dodgy just to get rid of there car coz it needs a little love.

I am amazed at some responses here to say the least, dont forget what goes around comes around.

^^Either owner did a good job to hide "worn bearings" or buyer just had no idea what to look/listen for when buying a 10+ year old car.
