it has been done before...don't ya read the magazines??? The difference is in the crank or atleast the main difference is anyway...just by far cheaper...the 51 windsor and clevo share the same bore and stroke...if ya want to make a stroker, ya better of getting the kits of ebay...the 302 windsor is the baby block...better of putting 289 rods in it...but ya have to remember what ya want to achieve and that the 5 litre block has been thinned to reduce weight and ya have to also knotch the cyclinder bottom for the rods to clear on strokers

Ok a 351C crank can be turned down to fit a 302 block but the cost in doing so makes it not worth the effort(or cost) when so many stroker cranks are already made to do this.
351 rods of either type will never fit in a short deck like a 5.0.
In the case of a 351C rod of 5.78" plus 1.75"(1/2 of 3.5" stroke) = 7.53". So with the 5.0 deck height of 8.2" - 7.53" = 0.67" Compression height. Now if you eat 0.456"(1/2 of 0.912") away(not to mention little end thickness of the rod itself) with piston pin boss area that leaves 0.214" to fit rings in....impossible. A 351w rod is nearly 6" long so the rod is actually poking out the top of the block.

Not a lot you can change between a 351 Clevo and Windsor...

Different:
deck heights, pistons, rod widths, main journal size, crank snout, timing gear setup, oil pump, sump, camshaft...

Same:
Bore, stroke, lifters, firing order.

Better change that sig. 8-)

Actually Rod widths are the same it's the length that's different...I've got 302C rods in my 351W.

Out of interest, what pistons are you using (to suit what?, or are they custom), are you using a Cleveland style head and pistons.

Heads, cam, intake & throttlebody. They need to be changed on any model prior to the 185kW EL II to make any meaningful horsepower gain.

If you wanted to have a 347 you're up for a complete rebuild, and 90% of what you have goes in the bin.
