Not AFAIK, the GT/FBT/Sprint MAF is calibrated for 24# injectors, same as the Sprint.

nope.. steady ed is right, but its not technically correct..

its more that the gt/sprint/gt ecu is matched to the maf.. and the ecu just happens to also run 24# injectors.

but the relationship between the standard v8 maf and standard ecu is waht the aftermarket mafs play with. so you can get a maf tuned to that ecu, and set up so that the voltage ramp kinda fools the ecu so you're able to upgrade injectors also.. hence the maf being cal'd to 24 pound. in other words its really calibrated to keep mixtures right when a standard ecu has 24# injectors hanging off it.

etc.

EEC will flip out with 24#'s instead of the 19's.
You'll need a chip, twEECer or aftermarket ECU.
Or, get one of those aftermarket MAF's from the US calibrated to the 19's that provides a modified flow curve to the EEC so it all works dandy.
There should be alot more info if you do a search, I hardly know anything on the subject, just enough to give you some basic tips at 1am :D
Cheers,
Jared
P.S. I hate night shift..

Where can you get the MAF cheap from?
If you can get a Manual Sprint EEC I'd be your new best friend :D

Not sure on that one.
Especially auto wise.
I *think* EL 8's still had the seperate trans controller.
Moot point really anyway, you'd be better off going a twEECer and getting your EEC tuned to your engine, as opposed to trying to match your engine to the EL GT EEC's tuning.

yep. and yeh nah the EEC5 el gt compuiter very much incompat with your EEC4 car.. try get an eb gt comp/maf instead!

and steady ED if you happen to get a auto sprint ecu, just give it a 25hz signal (shorted to ground i think)on the transmission data line, and it'l be a manual ecu. i drove around with the ecu in failsafe reverse gear torque reduction mode ie slow up to 60kmh for ages coz noone on any forum site knew that.

The MAF from a EL GT or an FBT will only work with the EL GT or FBT ECU, and vice versa. ( they're both calibrated to 24lb )

The GT and FBT mafs aren't calibrated at all so they will not work with standard V8 ECU. It's the ECU that needs to have the calibration otherwise will not work
