Yeah they had 19 lb injectors and these were in at the last 2 dynos days that I have been to. 139rwkw at our(FordMods) dyno day and 168.5 at Jakes dyno in Canberra, I have since got the 24s back in.

Is it upper or lower that kills the HO?

Ive got spare upper & lower HO sitting at home and lower looks very restrictive. Or is it related to the plenum and runners in the top half of the manifold?

The lower is the most restrictive, the upper isn't great either but probably flows 20-30cfm more per runner.

As said above its perfectly legal to drive any *stock* ef/el v8 other than the EL GT on your Ps in Victoria.
Fuel is fairly similar unless you give it a boot full at every set of lights lol!
I get about 50kms less a tank in the fbt than i did on my i6, altho its been getting better fuel economy lately puching 400+ in one tank of pulp all city driving with heavy foot so go figure..
Insurance is where you will notice the biggest difference to tell the truch, Ps, vic, V8 = $$$ no matter what.
Keep it running well tho and you wont have to rev it out as much as the 6cyl to get up to speed and you will end up saving fuel, i rarely go over 3k, only when i want a really hard shift or make heaps of noise.

The AU3 GT40Ps are already matched to a Felpro 1250 gasket and have far better and larger valves, so if the price is right they would be a great starting point.

Just thought I'd drag this up as I now have an EL XR8.

Mine is a Sep 97 but I still have the Explorer manifold not the HO one.

I guess I'm lucky seeing as this thread says that they didnt start until Oct 97.

I think nomad enquired about driving the FBT on your P's and due to new laws just in your not allowed, - lucky theres no exterior V8 badges on the FBT!!!

deffinetely able to drive the el v8's on your p's. i drive a el fairmont 5ltr and havent had any hasles, but maybe if u get the sportier xr8 they could pull u over. insurance for me as an 18 year old is $1900 full comp with just cars. i had to pay $100 for my 1st modification which was exhaust, but after that u can do ny mod without paying. u just have to tell them. as 4 fuel, i get around 400kms from a tank, give it a boot most of the time!
hope that helps.
