what on earth makes the AU3 220 so powerful?
ok i get the basics, bigger maf, bigger tb, GT40Ps, different cam etc
but what i dont understand is how on earth they can get 200rwkw with an exhaust and pod filter. thats INSANE.

how can i get my EL2 up to that sort of power?
chuck on a set of shaved gt40Ps (to up the compression a bit) AU3 cam, exhaust etc?

as far as i know car has larger tb 65mm? maf 70mm? high flow cats, stock headers, stock intake (explorer), standard exhaust, makes 130rwkw.

They have ported alloy gt40p heads, better intake, bigger maf, bigger injectors, better headers, bigger t/b, 1.7 roller rockers and different cam from what I know.

I rekon a set of ported gt40p heads, au maf, 24lb injectors, bigger cam and decent exhaust system would get you above the 220kw figure.

Ive got a similar combo to that and it only cost me around $4k fiited.

yeah i have a 70mm maf and 65mm tb already on, and the explorer intake,
really only need a set of decent heads and a cam, if i go ported GT40Ps it will set me back roughly 1K then i may as well buy a set of afr 165s hrmmm decisions decisions
AFR claim using a stock cam they acheived 251rwhp with a mustang. http://www.airflowresearch.com/store/95mustang_dyno.php
how does the comp XE264HR compare to the AU220 cam?
http://www.compcams.com/Cam_Specs/CamDe ... =1059&sb=2

i only want something mild as a daily, would love a lot more torque.

The Comp XE270HR would be a better choice.

Im running one in mine, its a nice cam that makes good power that tapers off 5500rpm, so it isnt insanely big by any stretch.

Nice idle and very smooth power, im running an auto without a stall so its a nice street cam. It has a nice broad spread in the mid range.

gotta update my sig.

AFR 165 heads, 1.6 roller rockers, explorer/cobra manifold, comp 270hr cam, made 268 rwhp naturally aspirated.

the figure in my sig is stock EF motor with a vortech (complete with s**t e7 heads).

Its a nice cam, smoothish idle, no stall required.

i doubt they hit 200 with only exhaust and filter. xr6t's and boss260's are around 180-200 stock to give you some reference.

au220 with edit may get up around 180.

mind you it all depends on the dyno. i've known cars here to get a figure on dyno 'a' and then drive down the road to dyno 'b' and turn 20rwkw less.

yeah very true, didn't think about that.

atm i have this combo floating around in my brain

GT40P heads (shaved 40thou)
extractors
twin 2.5" highflow cats
twin 2.25" exhaust
AU3 cam
custom tune it on my vapour injection system
reckon i could get 170rwkw? or am i asking too much
makes 130rwkw now...

closer to 190 would be possible on petrol.

If it has a mixer ring, make sure that it doesnt restrict the inlet pipe too much, I have seen an lpg kit on a EF 5L and the diameter inside is near on 40mm, if not less!

170 rwkw is very possible though, an AU2 cam will be a bit more aggressive, a set of roller rockers will help a bit too.

i'm running Vapour injection, not a mixer setup, i just need to work out if the converter can flow enough, so 170rwkw seems possible? i will also be replacing the s**t standard intake pipe with a mandrel bent one.

should i up the rockers to 1.72:1? if so will i need to change the rocker covers?

Your LPG system will be ok as you have a single converter which i think is rated to 400hp at the engine.

Speak to the shop who installed the kit and run everything through them just in case u may have to do anything.
