I like magnaflow cats, I run their boost series cats in my car. Supercat brand cats are also suppose to be decent and are cheaper than the magnaflows.

Do high flow cats make any difference, because i've heard both ways, that unless your cats are blocked they won't really make that much of a difference...

I have redback mufflers on mine and it sounds good, but i'm going to try out some magnaflows, because i heard them on a au2 xr8 and it sounded awesome.... kinda like a v8 supercar

On E-series V8's I think they make a fair difference. The inlet/outlet of the cats are really small and would have to reduce flow a fair bit I would think.

Another vote for a single 3" mandrel bend system here.

Had that for a while, and always get compliments about how nice it sounds.

I was actually selling them when lukey first released them (I sold EDXR8 his system), and they were snapped up pretty quickly.

The guy who tunes my unichip is always on my back to get a bigger exhaust system, and I keep telling him - if he can put an exhaust on the car, and it gets more power, and still sounds as good - I will buy it... less power... and I go back to the old system, at no cost to me...
He hasnt been game to do it yet.

My EL XR8 has a catsback single 3" system into a SuperCat muffler into a nice little hotdog.. gives a growl. Happy with the note, being an auto gets a rather annoying drone at 70km/h ..

am considering a lukey system for the replacement as they sound good ...
well the website sound wave anyway...

either that or what my local exhaust shop can lure me with ...

i dont think im that bad on performance with a single 3" then again iv'e never put my XR on a dyno. :?

I should also not that my cats are factory issued, but modded to meet up with the extractors and the rest of the system. The ends were cut off and opened up to 2 1/2 inches. I think that unless you have serious heads/big valves the stock cats are more than capable of flowing enough for the 5.0

Looking for a good replacement to fairlanes twin 2 1/4 system. Can you get twin 3" systems and are there any setbacks with em? Anyone know what they are worth. Should I just go with a twin 2 1/2 for a good note?

a mate of mine has twin 2/12 setup in his ef xr8, it sounds mint and he reckons he gained power from it
