Always loved the sound of the twin systems having owned a few 70's & 80's examples, but the thing that's turning me off a bit is the fact that I have just lowered the lane and that combined with the long wheel base and no cutout in the rear bumper on the left, means that I will be struggling to reverse out of any driveway that isn't dead flat! :( I could always drop the exhaust off early and have the twin pipes out the side just in front of the front wheels or just behind the diff

I forgot to tell you that the exhaust comes out the one side. my xr8 runs super low springs the twins don't stick out any further than the standed single. so you shouldn't have any problem

Apparently Magnaflows are awsome and have a nice note, i had a 2.5 inch of the extractors into 2 VN commo 5.0 cats then from the cats is 2.5 inch then into a 3inch and a muffler at the diff then another muffler at the rear and both straight through.

Not sure what the first muffler was but the rear was a lukey and sounded nice but if i were 2 build another XR8 id definatly go twin system all the way through

i have a EB XR8 running twin 2.5 inch all the way to the back, it took a bit of work to run the twins out the back but it is worth it . i also have an EB fairmont ghia wagon running a twin 2.5 inch exhaust with a pair of lucky mufflers sounds like the good old 70's v8 i also picked up about 100km extra out of a tank of fuel ( h/way driving). don't let them talk you into a single system no matter how big it is it still dosn't have the same sound or power. The wagon had a 2.5 single system when i got it and the diffrence is like chalk and cheese. go the twin.

Hey mate, are you running a balance pipe on your wagon? Also, can you tell me what Lukey mufflers you are using ie, chambered, straight through, size etc? I'm after ideas for my wagon and have just been told to steer clear of Redback mufflers.

I don't run a balance pipe, had one when i first put it on but i didn't like the sound.(just a personal thing i guess) when i took the balance pipe of, it just seems to have a chrisper sound,i didn't notice any performance or economy diffrence between the two set ups. i run a set of 2.5 inch ofset in and ofset out lucky mufflers they are a straight through set. i have the same set up on my XR8 but the wagon sounds better because the pipes come out the back on diffrent sides. like i said sounds like a 70's v8
