The only set of rings i could find need to be shipped from the us and an oil pump is 900 so i wont be rebuilding this au 5.0 :(

It's a 5L EFI windsor, why can't you get rings and an oil pump here???

Prove me wrong then, i tried ford, coventrys, repco, amcap, veale, chris mills(rocket dealer, didnt even have a listing) and found some that can be ordered from the us through another hi performance shop.Ford dont list the rings now and stopped selling them in feb 09.
Its funny all the parts stores said yeah we do them, until they checked.
And yes i thought they would be ready available also, they are not.

The rings and oil pump are not the same as a eb/el 5.0, found that out through ford.

I'd be asking a mechanic that knows their s**t, as Fraud told of oil pressure sensors (for the factory guage) are different for 6's and 8's.... They aren't so try speaking to BOTTLEDUP, he seems to really know his 5.0 stuff

Hmm, seems strange.
I would have thought Leon would have everything there.
Oil pump was the same on my mates AU 220kw engine as it was on my engine.

Don't Melling do the standard oil pump for these windsors? Try VPW or even Summit.

Thats what was used in both my e-series, and my mates AU engine. Same part number on both.

Leon said he got a set for a bloke a few weeks ago thats why he knew off the top off his head he didnt have them.
I dont need an oil pump if i dont get rings because i wont be pulling apart the bottom end,and for over 400 bucks for rings I decided to give it a miss(go figure).I didnt even ask about oil pumps when i rang leon, didnt seem any point after he told me about the ring situation.

Yeah true.
With only 110,000kms on it it should be fine.

Have you tried researching for rings through Summit or Jegs?

It just sucks because all the places i rang today that dont sell oil pumps and rings for au motors, do sell them for eb ho motors because i called them 2 weeks ago for prices.
