i've been offered a V8 DL LTD, but i'm a little concerned about a few things, the plate where the eng/trans/paint/trim codes are stamped is unstamped in the paint and trim sections, but the car is black with dark grey leather trim, and the front seats dont look anything like LTD seats, has anyone seen anything like this before?

Not sure mate. Being a black LTD, maybe it was a factory ordered funeral directors car / mourning car or something?

i havent seen black Ef/L before. try contacting your local ford dealer with hte VIN and they could tell you what colour it should be

DL LTDs only had cappa interior

sounds a little dodgy, get the vin checked and if it has had a change of colour it should be registered that way

Yep, ring Ford and give them the VIN and they will tell you what it came out with. Then ring your RTA or whoever deals with checking the status of all car's VIN plates and see what they say.

you sure its a DL? it could be a NL. No DL's got grey interior this will also explain why the seats don't look like LTD seats

i've phoned ford about it, and according to them there is no listing on thier system for paint or trim codes for the vehicle, but they can confirm it is an LTD, thier suggestion is that it was possibly a special order by someone with some influence at the ford dealership it was ordered at

Dunno if it is related but my EB is the same. When numbers were checked with Ford the colour was right but according to the computer the rest was unknown........but I knew the guy that owned it pretty much from new 8-)

$20 it's an ex funeral car. I believe that was the only way you could get one in black.
