Need to tell us more about the engine specs i.e. type of pistons used, what heads are fitted (also what was done to recondition them), what intake is fitted etc

To do the engine on the cheap for a full rebuild using crap pistons, bearing and other internals etc, $4500 is way over priced, but it is sort of like how long is a ball of string, depending on what has been done etc $4500 could be a bargain.

No real problems fitting that engine to an old XL, that engine is basically the same as any other 302/5.0L, someone on here probably could advise you of a number to call for a fitting kit.

Not in Australia from the factory (aftermarket done it in XP, called it a Sprint I think), but in 63 they released a V8 in the similar US version Falcon, it was an early windsor of 260CI.
