Inhibitor switch possibly. Does it start if you wiggle the shifter around a little?

ive tired everything
u say wiggle it
i say throw it around like a boxing bag cus thats what i did with the s**t lol
and no still nothing
tried smashin the dash for the lil computer on the left side of the steering column= nothing
checked all the fuses and relays
nothing
tapped the starter motor
still nothing

grrrrrrr

its not the battery
cus yea when i turn the reds on i dont got much voltage
but plenty to start it everytime
except when this happens
but im reading about 11 which normally still starts it
an then when she starts she goes up to about14 -15 volts

pull the starter motor out and reco it,the brushes wear, and the solinod contacts wear out,i just had mine done recently----240,000 odd---but how many starts, some times 30 times a day and low ks traveled, autos its a must.while your at it do the alternator as well,a running one is cheaper to fix,i have spare ones reconditioned for my v8s.

Give the small wire (spade connector) on the starter motor a wiggle. This wire gets very crispy and old due to the heat down there, but give it a try anyway.

Starter relay? Located under the coolant expansion tank, I think?

Swap a couple around and see what happens.

ok folks
i got a new starter motor
thought id try it with the wire straight to the battery and its now trying to start
just not enough charge in the battery to start it so now it seems i have bought a new starter motor when it wasnt needed but i did the wire trick the other day and it wouldnt work
wtf is going on
sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt
y its this happening

seeing as the new starter motor im thinking maybe my starter could be faulty or something
i dont no

all i got at the moment is a few spanners and screwdriver and a shifter until i can access more tools as mine went walking again:(

how many bolts are the to take out the v8 starter? normally 2 but i have found 3 lol
atm im doing it without even jacking the car upas the angle the cars ar isnt safe for a scissor jack and i dont have a trolley jack f**k its hard lol
but thats life aye

any help would be great
i have been over the wires time and time again so i think it has to be a faulty starter motor

whats ur thoughts and ideas folks

cheers
Drifty
