Ok picked up my GT40P heads yesterday. Now to get some double springs. Then ill send the heads off for some porting.
Paid $550 for brand new heads from a fordforums member (minus valve springs, which i had to buy anyway!)

Nice buy mate. Sounds like its coming along nicely.
What else do you have to gather up?
I'd be buying all the gaskets yourself too, if ya let the place where ya getting it all fitted supply em they will load em right up.
Let me know, and i can tell ya exactly what gaskets you'll need and how much i paid from cov's, i went all genuine gaskets aswell apart from the Fel-pro race H/gaskets and the Fel-pro 1250 intake gasket.

Hey mate,

I have still got to to get the springs (prolly isky's), 1.6 rollers, all of the gaskets etc.
The manifold was ported/cleaned up to suit felpro 1250 gasket.

I would love if you could tell me what i need/should pay!!
I have to find somewhere to get the required gaskets from.
(cov's = conventrys?)

Umm, apart from that im not to sure what else. The trickflow cam states it suits a higher compression ratio, so im not sure what im going to do with that.

Looking at high performance world at the isky springs, but i have no idea which ones i need ahah.

Not too sure how close the GT40P inlet port is to the 1250, but if its gonna get opened up a bit make sure you get it matched to the manifold and gasket.

Yeah mate cov's = coventrys, over here cov's specialises in genuine ford parts which is good. Leon and a few other ppl advised on using genuine ford gaskets.
Alright as far as what gaskets you'll need, im not too sure how far your going with it, coz basically i pulled the motor out and had the lot done, so i'll just put them all up, that way it will defiantely cover everything.
Sump Gasket=$182.949(p/n-f5tz-6710-a)
Timing Cover Gasket=$47.11(p/n-f3tz-6020-a)
Rear Main seal=$45.90(p/n-f1sz-6701-a)
Front Crank seal=$22.81(p/n-e6dz-6700-a)
Water pump inc' gasket=$177.40(p/n-gwf-15010-93a)
180deg Thermostat inc' gasket=$22.63
Fel-Pro 1011-2 Race H/Gaskets =$72ea (i think you'll want the 1011-1's)
Fel-Pro 1250 Inatke gasket=$59.00

Thats about it as far as gaskets go i tink, exhaust manifold gaskets i just used a pair of ACL steel based ones from repco, about $8.00 each, the Felpro ones were bout $60 so i passed on them. Also rocker cover gaskets, not sure on genuine prices but i went for the thicker felpro cork ones which were $48.00pr. All the above prices apart from the felpro stuff is trade price from cov's, but im sure you must know someone who can fix you up.
You may decide to get some more bits together, like rollmaster chain set etc, you will obviously need new head studs/bolts. I went for an ARP head stud kit (p/n-ARP154-4001) which was $180.

You could bump up the compression a bit by taking some off the heads while they are getting ported etc, just have to be carefuly how much you take off before running into p/v clearance issues.

Hello All... Just a quick question.
Do i have to have the GT40p's machined to suit the double valve springs?
