actually i think the vs ss is a 5.0 v8 and is not a ls1 either.
this is the thread: http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=35856
on average a fairmont v8 should be able to pull low 15's easly and possibly high 14's. good time considering its about 1700kg

Ah sorry man, I thought it said vx ss.
Yeah the vs ss is the aussie v8, and trust me, they don't have half a chance next to an EL XR6, I used to beat the VS clubbies (185kW) in mine.

couldn't find specs on an el xr6 but these are the results of an auto el gli:

0 - 100km/h 9.2 sec
0 - 400 mtrs 16.7 sec

I doubt the extra 7kw (even with 3.45 gears) the xr6 has is gonna be able to knock off over a second of the quarter mile and 2 seconds off its 0-100 to beat the BA v8.

before you winge about manual, these results are based on an auto just as an auto barra 220 is capable of low/mid 15 sec passes and 0-100 in low/mid 7 seconds.

hehehe :P slower than a f**k ea!

Granted mine was running a bit s**t at the time, and still is :(

The specs they have for quarter/0-100 times are deceptive of what they go like on the street.

i'd disagree, they're really disappointing on the street, and for that matter, so are the xr8s.

You really have no idea mate. Seriously these things a bloody leathal. I can tell you have never driven one.

The torque off idle and continues through out the rev range (at a somewhat limited 5250 rpm)

Once the s**t 6cyl exahust is off, Typhoon lower airbox and a tune these are good for 230/240 RWKW !!!.

Its not just an old truck motor these are put in the Mustang and the F150 lightening with a S/C bolted on.

220kw @ 4900 RPM
470/480nm @ 3500 RPM.

So your telling me its going to be slow. I will line you up fool. and smoke you to the wrong side of the speedo and back.

Voxace trailed behind me ever so slightly. So unless your car is upto his spec. I doubt you would have any chance.

By no means is it a race car but with only 30,000kms on it. Its still to loosen up.

Craig from ACE tunning has his running mid 13s in STREET TRIM. with plenty more to come.

I would shut your mouth before you make a bigger fool of yourself.

I love my ghia and its fast enough for me and for what it is. Its a nice machine.

You d***head
