Is it a repairable write off or a reposession auction?

yeah i would have to say 7-10 aswell, depends on who is there and who wants it, you may get a bargain. Go in with a price in mind, and if it hits that stick your hands in your pocket and walk away.

because generally people that have cars with say 200kms on it have replaced such things as oil filter, fuel filters, bushers basically theres a whole number of things, and if the km's are so low then sometimes things on the car havent been worn in so after not being used very much, once someone starts to use it everyday these things crack

unless someone has spent the time replacing all these things then you will have to do it yourself

i think youl find thast a lot of people who keep low km cars get them serviced say every 3 or 6 months rather than every 5 or 10 thousand kms.

mum and dads rav 4 is like that, its 2 yr and 4 months old, and its just clocked 15,000km but its been serviced about 5 or 6 times already.

well 3 years ago when i was looking for a car many el's and ef's that had between 150-250kms were serviced for about 3 years after new then the people just stoped taking it for a service and just changed what ever stuffed up

having looked at 2 el's with only 60-80kms they had the same service history about 3 years then stopped getting the proper services but apart from tyres and brakes nothing else had been replaced

You will find most car's don't get serviced much after their warranty period runs out.

My Eb Ghia's book has service history from 1993 til 2000, after that, until i bought it in 2004, who knows? Probably lucky to have been serviced once. I service it every 10,000kms myself.

There are the odd exceptions to the rule, like my 1974 torana with stamped book service history all the way from 1974 to 1991, then from there it was owned by a home mechanic who serviced it every 5,000kms. I bought it many years ago now, and have serviced it every 5,000kms when i had it on the road, but never kept a written log.

When the rebuild is finished & it's back on the road I'll be keeping records of the servicing.

Cheers

ToranaGuy
