What annoys me about Ford racing is that they have this in the catalog but not the engine on it's own!?!

Basically it's a big block 2V modular. Big bore spacing(has just over 4" bore std),2V OHC, dual spark plugs,VCT. They ake around 425hp stock and are

able to be opened up to over 7L, still has a modular pattern too :D Roush racing used a proto engine NA in their back halved '05 stang with E85 and went 9.2's straight out of the box...btw they removed a blown GT40 5.4 which was doing 9.4's.

Yeah well you don't need 4 cams for a 2V do ya.

I must of missed the 2V as i have conjuncaviros in my eyes right now and it sucks a**

Let the cam upgrades bring these engines alive as the DOHC upgrade path took forever to get the right cam combo's. Still seems like a very large engine but out of the box 6.2L its a trade off ppl will accept easily.

Yes, apparently the Raptor race truck they built only had different cams and made 500hp. It's large but it's not any wider than a modular, maybe slightly narrower in fact because it has a shorter deck height than a 5.4...amazing what you can do when you don't have such a silly small bore spacing isn't it?

HAHAHAHA right on dude, ive been complaining since day one when Ford released the DOHC cam engine and ive said if they kept it simple it would be way better. I guess they have listened finally and the performance boyz would be much happier as well.

Now lets wait to see if they actually hit as a run of the mill engine for sedans in the US and if they end up here, then companies like Trickflow and AFR making CNC heads for them...........

Any pictures of the caps, crank and rods at all floating around???

looks very similar to the cam and rocker setup that our SOHC inline six uses.
(roller cam, shaft mounted rockers with hydraulic lash adjuster in the tip of the rocker)
