Hi boys, im rebuilding the old girl.
I had to start again after the crank wouldnt spin with the rods connected..
Turns out there where metal shavings in a journal.. screwed one of the rod bearings..
So everything has been cleaned.. starting again..
1st.. Rear main seal.. does the lip face the block or the gear box?
2nd Cam plate, do the journals face the cam, or time sprocket?
And once its installed, how easy should it be to spin, with out the welsh plug in.
Ill probably have more to come later.. but these 2 questions answered will help me move to the next stages..
Cheers

The lip goes to the front of engine, and the grooves to the cam sprocket.
Install cam first. will have a drag to it when turning, only because of install lube.
Make sure you put the rods/pistons in the right way, or you won't be able to turn the crank. Seen that before..LOL.
