Hey there guys. Have had a bit of a look around both here and on the other 2 forums but havent found many with this cam to ask.

I have fitted a Trickflow 51402000 cam to my Au 2 xr8 ute. And am just asking other windsor guys if they noticed a gain straight up prior to having it tuned.

Definately notice the idle on mine its nice and grumpy. The ute shakes at idle. Still seems to be making power over 6000rpm which is what we thought. And you can smell fuel. Clearly needs a tune and we know that, but like i said before just asking if other got a gain before the tune or was it only realised after the tune.

Heads shaved and used thin Felpro gasket to get 9.5 compression
Isky 6005 double valve springs
All the usuall cam install extras
Full exhaust + pacey comp extractors
Tuned previously by chiptorque and will be re-tuned to suit cam shortly"
3.9 diff gears
CAI and filter + box mods

And its a 200spec au2 xr8 so GT40P's, Explorer etc etc etc

Please only answer if you know

Thanks guys

As you know Sylox i've got this cam, but had no comparison with straight cam swap as I did heads, manifold and everything else with it at once.

I haven't got a chip so no tuning to be done, but I think I might go for one as mine smells rich too, although definately isn't chewing the fuel, its delivering great economy.

Have you not really noticed a difference with the change of cam?

Its becoming better now that the ecu is learning its way around it. And there is heaps more stonk up around the 4000 - 6200. I think the ecu just took longer than usual to ajust for it.
But I feel there will be a good gain in the tune yet to come. Especially when I can get a couple of hundred rpm more out of it. Its still making bordering on holding at 6200 by the feel of it.

I'm well aware of the AU edit for the eecv. Andhave been watching it very closely. I have also had the SCT scan tool on my ute and datalogged a lot of info. We found that there was no gain to be had over the current tune I have (pre-cam).
Lachlan@chiptorque will be re-tuning the ute and atm it will be via the J3 chip that is currently fitted to the ute. Lachlan also has full access to the SCT software/ edit and we have looked at that possibility.
The ute will also be run down the 1/4 a few times with the emulator in it to datalog exactly what its doing as a R&D excercise.
