Doing a stroker crate engine swap with a 200kw AU2 XR8 engine, wanting to fit new injectors so go to my local Ford parts guy. He tells me from 1999 on they are orange injectors, prior to that they are blue. Yet the 200 engine that I am swapping out has blue injectors but according to parts guy it should have orange - confused. Can anyone tell me what it should have and what is the difference between the two (apart from the fact that the orange ones are a third of the price)?

I think he has it the wrong way round. Orange are 19 pound, blue are 24 pound. Orange on e series, blue on au's.

blue injectors = 24lb regardless of year.

just the connection on the injector changes according to the car it came out on

Be careful......I have blue injectors that look identical to the 24lb'ers that came std on my AU, but they flow 39lb/hr.

See the pic below; Which is the AU 24lb/hr, and which is the '03/04 SVT Cobra 39lb/hr?

Correct...light blue on the left are the 39lb/hr.

OK, so I suppose they aren't exactly identical, but my point being that colour alone is not the most reliable/definitive way to determine the size of Bosch injectors :)

Yeah mate definately understand where your coming from, just makes the point "blue injectors = 24lb/hr" incorrect. As anyone with no real knowledge experience with the injectors may think that all blue ones are 24lb/hr, definately a valid bit of info there mate.
The only reason i knew is because i had a full set of EV6 24lb's sittin right in front of me a few months back before the engine got built and i was pretty sure they were darker blue

Nah mate, the plugs are different. You will require plug adapters which are available through BPT Motorsport (08) 9302 3415, which is where i sourced mine from.
They are actually a genuine Ford Racing item so any speed shop who imports Ford Motorsport stuff from the states should be able to get them for ya.

i don't mean to hijack the thread and tell me to knick off if you want.

i have my eb in bits in my carport at the moment and it has black injectors with yellow ends. i realise you've just said that colour may not be a identifying means but any idea if these are any more than non genuine or genuine standard eb injectors. previous owner said that he'd fitted new/bigger ones but my tuner wasn't sold on that.

any ideas.

Sound like std 19lb/hr injectors to me.
