Guys,

I am FINALLY glad to announce that my car has just done it's first lap around the block to get some fresh fuel into the tank.

After 16 months of sweat, swearing and disappointment, on Friday the 15th of July 05 the engine burst into life, and tonight after filling the slush box with fluid, she has just completed her first 3 km drive.

For those who don't know it was an EBII GLi 4l 5sp.

Now it's an EBII bodyshell, AU2 TS50 220kw powered and controlled, EL slushbox, EL diff, EL abs, and EL Fairmont/Futura interior.

I'm hoping to have her registered for the All Ford Day here in Sydney, but am not sure if it'll happen yet. Still got to do wheel alignment, a proper tranny service, new exhaust system and rego.

I would like to thank many people for their help

Businesses-

MacArthur Parts Plus- Narellean NSW

Tony, Steve and the boys are the best parts guys around, (they held onto a TS50 engine for a month for me), not including the multitude of parts they had in their shelves that now reside in my car.

Roadways Autoelectrical- Richmond NSW

Colin, for putting up with the constant disappointment of it not starting, after late friday finshes. Thanks mate.

Penrith Muffler Man-

Although Woody hasn't done the exhaust work yet, I'm thanking him now because of all the help so far.

People-

Spider and Drone,

Thanks for the help, the late nights/early mornings out in the garage putting the old girl back together. Also thanks for the encouragement when things didn't go to plan. Lots more to say really, but all I can say is thanks, beers are on me when she's rego'd.

Danny Beal and Eddie Edwards-

For lending me their cars when I needed to get s**t done, be it shopping, getting parts etc.

Many Ford Mods members, who without knowing helped in so many little ways with tips and info.

Finally the person who needs the most thanks,

My beautiful wife Nicky-

Thanks for putting up with not having a car for so long, damn the motorbike is cold in the middle of winter to go to work on, eh. Thanks for putting up with the late nights/early mornings to bed. Thanks for being there when it wasn't looking like I'd get it done, and for being there when it breathed life for the first time.

Chris

Kudos for getting it up and running tho, about as big a job as it gets. Looking forward to hearing/seeing more about it.
