Did a oil and oil filter change today oil was black but wasn’t gritty, all was looking good till I went to put the oil in I noticed just in the top of the cap grey oil (water mixed with oil) like you find with a blown head gasket, the thing is there was no water in the oil when I did the change, its not using water never been over heated since I have owned it and if lucky gets driven once or twice a week if that.

I spent time on the car today getting it washed and polished, so I did a check on the oil to make sure no oil leaks, had a look to see if she needs any water in the washer bottle or the water tan for the radiator nope didn’t need any, so I looked under the oil cap and noticed some moisture under the cap not a lot but some, still none going into the oil just in the cap, any ideas what this could be, as the car runs fine.

Condensation, if you run without a thermostat it can actually pull enough moisture, or not burn it off, to make it look like a blown head gasket.

Don't worry about it. Normal in cold weather.

Grumbles
