I have a BA GT-P with Boss 290. all that has been done is cat back exhaust, its a redback system. I have had it on the dyno and it is 296 RWHP. what other mods can I do to get it over the 300 mark and still be a good cruiser. it has 4 sp auto fitted

A mate of mine has a FG XR8 with the 290kw engine, he has full exhaust with extractors, highflow cat and a xcal 3 tuner dyno tuned (I think its called) and hes pulling 260rwkw (348rwhp). It halls a** as well. Feels pretty sedate to about 3000ish then all of suden it just slams you back and dosn't stop pulling.

2 piece underdrive pulleys.
Cold air kit(BPT make a good one)
Headers and full 2 1/2" dual exhaust
Helix plate
Oil separators
Stay with your stock t-body
PCM tune(talk to BPT again for Sniper gear)
All of the above will get you around 400rwhp but underdrives on their own will push it over 300.
My Pursuit makes about 320 with just underdrives and cold air(exhaust is stock)...of course the cold air actually gives more on the road because their ain't no cold air on the dyno. I've used the sniper gear to increase the low and midrange torque but haven't touched the top end state of tune.

Oil pump gears are not strictly necessary
BPT cold air works better
XFT...you'd have to pay me huge money to even drive past there.

I thought the oil pump gears were necessary when doing underdrives. You would know alot more about WA Tuners than I, but what is bad about XFT? On AFF Simon is like a god

More. I've got that at the wheels. And later this year it's getting charged. I'm wanting to go nuts 500+ (but have to see if that's feasible).

The oil pump gears are good insurance. Get them done at the same time as under drives/chain tensioners to save on labour and your laughing.

If you don't, have 10k handy for a rebuild if the gears decide to crack on you. It has happened, there's more than a handful on FFAU with evidence.

mods like under drives (especially on manuals) and raised rev limits cause more stress on the gears.
