EDIT - Due to post 18 i changed topic title to suit

OK as per another thread a lot of you guys already know that I have ordered a set of pro topline heads that are getting some porting and machine work done on them at moment in readiness for build
They are getting played with in the bowl area and runners to optimise air flow plus also getting fitted performance valve springs and 1.6 ratio roller rockers
I will have these in my possession by end of week so will post pics of finished product when i get them

I also have purchased the Edelbrock Victor EFI intake manifold and thus shall be picked up within next couple days so will also post pics when it's here but here's an appetiser to what it looks like
Image
This manifold will be getting sent to headsense (where motor is getting built) to have runners looked at plus also port matching it to new heads

The cam we have chosen is a Comp Cams unit with around 570 lift
Will post exact cam specs when i know them

Scat products will be getting used for the rotating assembly whilst a main stud girdle will also be fitted to aid in strength and durability plus also for owners peace of mind ;)

Everything here is the culmination of 1 weeks thought process as only bought car 3 days ago so as you can see everythings moving along quite quickly

Hopefully everythings plain sailing but i'm thinking everything can't go as easily as it has so far so waiting for something to pop up lol

Ohhh i am also taking the car down to All Transmissions in Currumbin this week to get the ball rolling with a shift kitted and stalled gearbox
Well actually prob put the kit through now and have stall sit here till new motor goes in

Well that's everything i can think of at moment
Will post pics when i get new things done

Anyone know if the US 94-95 model 5.0 the same as ours?
Trying to define which distributor to buy
MSD lists 2 dizzys for the EFI 5.0, 86-93 and 94-95

not sure what bore size the 289 has so can't answer that
my motor is a 302 windsor which we are putting the stroker kit into
the 351 windsor is an entirely different motor altogether with a longer deck height than the 302

Nice work dude. What is the final objective with this one?

Any idea of a final power/torque figure you are aiming for?

How long before it is all done?

Keep us updated with this buildup.

4. Keep us updated with this buildup.

1. To have a street reliable 12 second car that can be driven every day if need be

2. Hopefully around mid to high 300hp range

3. Hopefully motor will be all built and run in on the engine dyno within six weeks and then just a matter of sorting computer side out and then she'll be in so hopefully 2 months

4. For sure i'll be taking plenty pics of everything so this thread will be filled with them

The problem with 347s is that they use very short rods and short skirt pistons with a short deck height. Also still shorter stroke than 351. But Lighter!

302 same bore size as 289, essentially same block. 289,302,351,400 all same bore size...

Manifold came today so took a couple pics of it before i dropped it off to have port matched etc

Whilst i was down there i took some pics of the BARE top line heads as they are before any port work or anything else had been done

As you can see in the photos the ports need to be cleaned up a fair bit for optimum flow
Should have completed heads 2 weeks
Will post pics of finished product

I have also ordered an MSD pro billet distributor which will be here this week

Getting closer ppl's :D
