Hi guys,

I own a stockish EL V8 (have only done extractors, exhaust, and BPT Underdrives)

I am looking at buying a Crane/Crow Cam, I can install it myself however:

I have no idea on how to get the car tuned after fitting the cam?
Where do I take it?
How exactly does my car get tuned for the cam ?

I want to take the car to "get it tuned" but I dont even know what to say, or where to start !

I have no idea bout these later model V8's. Im hoping you guys can explain it to me, as I have no idea. :(

If it's a relatively stockish V8 I would suggest going a cam that is relatively mild and suitable for a fairly stock car, therefore wouldn't need any tuning as there isn't really anything to tune with the standard ECU. The only thing that you might have to play around is with timing.

To run a wilder cam you'd end up needing an aftermarket ECU to control the idling. Have a look at Wade cams on this website, they do deals for fordmods members

So if i fit a 2031/2030 cam , do I just need to fit new springs, and maybe roller rockers ?

Dont need to get it "tuned" ?

Sorry for being so dumb

The 2030/2031 cams are a good selection and do not generally need any specific tuning. Just install them along with matching springs/retainers, roller rockers aren't absolutly needed but a very good idea (personally I wouldn't put a high lift cam in with stock rockers). Over the first 100kms or so, the factory computer will learn to cope with the cam.
