Well its all sorted.

A MASSIVE THANKS to Jeff (XH5LWEPN) for sorting it out.

Turnsout the mob that installed the throttle body installed and left it at that, with the pedal hard to the floor the butterfly was only opening 3/4.

2 nuts and 2 washers was enough to space out the opening to open it fully.

Now the gearbox now shifts dead on 5500rpm, also the tps was reset as well as the one that guides the gearbox too. Now the kick downs are so smooth.

She'll be back to the strip on Wednesday to see what it equates to, hoping for another 2 tenths, she ran 13.9 before, going for 13.7.

Cant thank you enough Jeff, gotta buy you a beer or 10 next time your down my way!

That one only opened up 1/2 throttle!! Made s**t of power for only 1/2 throttle though! Will be very interesting to see a dyno chart it when its all rectified... ;)

I won't give em any crap for this kinda thing. They built an awesome rock solid engine. Sure, it had a few teething problems, which in the end were happily sorted out and now all is well. When it comes down to it, they know their s**t better than a dung beetle and are a good bunch of blokes, who are all heavily overloaded with work so it's no suprise in my view that the odd oversight occurs.

Just a thought,my eb 5.0 redlines/changes at roughly 4900-5000 and the au v8 i had redlined at 5500.Did the redline raise with the ef??? Because it still had the ho motor. and the au had the explorer?

possibly... I've not looked into it too closely. I'd assume with the better breathing heads, intake headers and camshaft they raised the rpm limit to get higher kw numbers. The TE's had a 5500 redline and a 6200 limit I'm pretty sure. No factory 5.0/5.6 feels all that great reving past 5000 at any rate.

There should be NO excuses. People are paying TOP dollar, waiting excessive amounts of time for their work to be done and they arent just playing with general cars here they are playing with peoples PRIDE and JOY. Do the work properly the first time, keep the customers happy and get a good name out there and NO excuses.

this maybe a catchy thing as mine at wot changes at 5grand max , yet the tacho has the redline at 5500. :?
will have to have a look at how much it opens up when to the floor.
won't be able to make to jeff's "w.a" workshop for the fix but :P
