Hey guys im sure this has been posted before, but I just want to be 100% certain before i purchase a set of headers.

I've got a NF Fairlane with gt40p heads and standard exhaust fowels with #4 spark plug drivers side. Ive been lookin at a set of pacemaker headers PH 4000 for slight performance and there website states "Will not fit with GT40 Heads as fitted to 302W AU II due to Spark Plug angle".

http://www.bestmufflers.com/bshop/produ ... 7d07c3c026

These are the headers ive been looking at. Ive read a few posts that people have said these will fit but plug angle is very tight. Does the spark plug lead rub on the headers? I dont care if its tight, as long as its not rubbing on a hot exhaust.

Like I said, I just want to be 100% sure before i purchase. I dont want to have to resport to removing the heads to get an exhaust that fits.

Cheers Anthony

This needs to a sticky as it's been covered endless amounts of time. For the record, they fit but you will have issues removing plugs and will need new boots on your leads as the stock ones wont get sufficient clearance. These issues can and have been worked around countless times before.

Someone will give you a much more specific answer. Welcome to Fordmods!

I believe that the difillipo's fit GT40p heads with no issue but not 100% sure on this

I wouldnt be getting difillipo if the motor is standard because you will lose torque and backpressure, the difillipo have a 3 inch collector and the pacemaker have 2.25 or 2.5 collector.Pretty sure the difillipos are 4 into 1 also(no good for bottom end)Tri y will work best with a stock motor.

Pacemaker dont do extractors to suit gt40p heads in e series, only advance headers do them as far as i know.
But i do have pacemaker 4000,s on my el and they work great with the stock ho motor.
Im not sure if 4001 pacies fit e series, they are the au v8 version.Pacemaker say they dont fit but i couldnt tell you for sure

I tend to agree with milo 302 in regards to a standard engine but if u think ur gona do a head and cam upgrade then definatly go difillipo

don't listen to the crap PACEMAKER tell you. :)
E series pacies WILL fit GT40P heads in an E series, just need 90 degree spark plug boots and its a b**ch to change plugs but its not like you change plugs every second week.
with the 90 degree plug boots you wont melt any leads and if your worried about it then just whack some heat tape on the boots.

I'm also on the TRI-Y band wagon unless you are planing future upgrades past the 200rwkw mark.
its not a massive difference between 4 into 1 and tri-y but the little bit extra torque you make with the tri-y's is heaps more valuable to you than a few extra kw at the top end.

I have the Pacies on my GT40P heads and they're fine. I don't use heat tape though, I use the kevlar heatsleeves to prevent lead problems and after more than 12 months of running the heatsleeves, I am extremely happy with them.
I also think that unless you are going proper aftermarket heads or putting out high kw's ( 260+ ), Pacies are fine.
