Has anyone tried the new procomp electronic alloy heads on their windsor? they are meant to be good for 500hp+ and at $1600 new complete with valves springs etc they just seem to cheap to be any good.
Decent Brand name windsor alloy heads are double the $$$$
Are the procomps all they're cracked up to be for cheap or are they just crap? :? :?:

To save us debating about the heads go here and check out this thread at Corral Forums.

Personally I would like to try them, that is a big saving considering that $1600 is complete assembled heads.

Just got my email from Ford Muscle. They did a review of the Kiwi Top Proline heads. Go to http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2006/04/RHSHeads/index.php

Yeah, I just got that as well. Shame they dont make the smaller port version with a 1.9" inlet valve...

Apparantly Pro-Topline went bust and they where bought by Comp Cams. They are selling them under the name Racing Head Services (aka RHS) Pro-Action heads.

The Procomp heads are the chinese copy's, and from all reports need a lot of machine work before they can be bolted-on....

I have been using a set of alloy procomp heads on my 351w and i have been very happy with them so far. I have not yet had a chance to dyno it . But i did notice a power increase from the gt40 i had on before, which where ported as far they could go and had L34 valves.

BTW - procomp and pro topline heads are two totally different heads made by two different companys.

yeh i just thought that maybe skianef meant to say pro topline.. i get the whole different company thing.

i just never heard of procomp heads.. so obviously missed the reference..

(sorry, just sick of reading 'pro comp and pro topline are made by different companies' when it only needed to be said once)

Did you have any problems fitting them?

No Probs, just bolted straight on. inlet ports matched my manifold perfectly. Manifold is a Trickflow EFI R Series
