Hi Guys,
Just wondering what this could be:

Occasionally when i turn my LTD on, the trip meter ( or the wee speaker inside it) makes about Five quick short beeps. Similar to the low fuel mileage warning but much faster and shorter, with a slight higher pitch.

Any idea what this is? It only does it after the engine has been started.

Cheers,
Mason

Isn't that something to do with the airbags? I know on my sunvisor sticker it says something about taking the car to a dealer if I hear 4 or 5 beeps at any time.

Its a 93 LTD, no airbags, you just rely on 2 meters of barge to protect you

I know that the EF 6's do this when the oil pressure is too low when the engine is started, or if the temp gets too high, so I would assume that it would have something to do with that

I think i will have to check the oil pressure then.

Had a full tank of gas, plenty of water. and im pretty sure it had plenty of oil, but will check.

Cheers guys

yeah could be a sensor fault. My 6 only did it when I was in traffic, hot day with aircon blasting, and running shell oil in the yellow bottle. I forget the specs of the oil, but I never ran it again as Penrite fixed the problem

I have this issue as well & notice that it only does it with the Digi cluster & my Oil light comes on, I checked the dip stick & she has heaps of oil.
I like the sports cluster so both oil & voltage are displayed as when your alternator goes with a Digi clutser you cant watch the voltage & cannot see the oil pressure rise & drop.
