I have a crack down the side of my radiator tank and I'm working in the middle of nowhere with a couple of little piss-pot towns 50km from me with the closest one of any significance being 150km.

I used half a dozen eggs to get it parked up from the middle of nowhere and now need to get it sorted before Friday. Do EA or ED radiators fit in, or do they at least nearly fit so I can bodge them up with wire or something, just to get me the 600km home?

If it's any help, the V8s and I6s use the same radiator. Fairly sure that EA to EL use the same radiator.

Good luck!

Mike

No. EA-ED radiators are different to EF/EL ones!
They are the same size but the ea-ed one use a much larger bottom radiator hose and so your ef/el one wont fit (also the water pump fitting is smaller on a ef/el so you cant just use a ea-ed radiator hose.

So yeh you need an ef/el one. An au one may fit though.

Spewing!!!

Thanks for that. I'm in the Southwest just inland from Hopetoun. I'll get it out and see if I can repair it if worst comes to worst.

Hunting for a radiator to suit then!

It's ok now, everyone can stop panicking! I've got it fixed. Haha... or was I the only one panicking?

Being in the middle of whoop whoop can have its advantages! Everyone knows everyone and if you're in with one of the locals then people are happy to help. Incase anyone gives a crap, my aunt who lives on a farm about 20km from the mine I work at got hold of her mate whose the local mechanic who got hold of his mate who owns the only radiator joint this side of the black stump and he was happy for someone to drive the 150km to his shop, give him a call when they were 5 minutes away, then go and open it just so I could have my radiator! Champions! Then a mate at work who turns out to be pretty switched on with anything mechanical has it in in about half an hour.

Looks like I'll be back in Perth for New Years! Look out Perth Cup!!!

Thanks for the help too guys, otherwise I'd probably still be trying to get the radiator hose onto an ED radiator. Muchly appreciated
