Hey,

As of about 2 weeks ago i have been having problems with my idle. I stop at a set of lights and the car will just cut out, has happened around 7-8 times now. Also sometimes when you start the car the revs just go up and down and nearly stall then go back to normal. Ford have no idea cos they are a bunch of twits, they charge me $150 to tell me it could be the throttle body but we really need the car longer to find out. And now after i have taken it to ford the revs drop to 500 everytime i stop :x

So any ideas on what it could be?

Thanks, Mark

I take it this is on the BA? Try checking vac lines. If you can't find anything this way grab a can of aerostart or startyabastard and spray it all round the intake etc. If the revs pick up then you're looking at a leak.....

Don't know if you or ford tried this: but i would would disconnect battery, wait like 30mins (to reset ecu), then recconect....

Let ecu re-learn whats goin on - someone can pick me up on this if it aint ganna do shiit, but ive done it to my EECV and it worked for me when mine kept stalling (i thought it was vacuum leak, resetted ecu and fixed!) - i dunno BA are prolly different...????

Wont hurt anyway before you race off and buy new parts

But yea if thats no good check vacuum lines again!

Sorry for taking so long to post back. I have cleaned the throttle body and it has gotten a bit better, it still jumps up and down a bit but hasn't stalled yet which is good. I'm pretty sure ford stuffed around with the ecu but i might disconnect it and see if it does anything. Thanks guys
