Hey all! been a member on here for a while i thought id ask a questin 2 everyone, What is your opinion on running 98 octane fuel in older engines??? Any feedback would be appreciated

Technically thats all you should run in an older engine.

Leaded fuel was 96ron. Which means standard unleaded and premium unleaded aren't suitable due to not enough octane rating. Reality is though you can tune to suit.

Unleaded is 91ron
Premium unleaded is 95ron
Then theres the 98/100ron octane unleaded.

My XB lives on a diet of Mobil Synergy or BP Ultimate both 98ron.

I only run my XB 351 on 98 octane. Runs better, starts easier, and can squeese a tad more timing. As long as your valve seats are suited to unleaded or using valvesaver, I cant see any negatives...bescides $$$.
