do you think its possible to get a gt shaker scoop to fit an au xr8 now that they have them for the ba , any ideas of were i could get it done :lol:

I cant see why not... they look pretty easy to modify for whatever use you are going to have... check them out..

god damn thats hot, but where are the photos's of the plumbing :( does it still use MAF, TB, even and airfilter, can a shaker be moded to use the stock intake/tb/maf combo or is it a whole other setup

No, it has a new manifold, four barrel throttle body (like a four barrel holley). I think they found a way of tricking the EEC, not sure on that though. May be an aftermarket ECU. I have talked to the guys who did this converion in length. It was LMG Performance (AKA Laura Motor Garage) which is now located just out of Port Pirie, SA.

I will be doing this my EF Fairmont.

Anythings possiable with the rightamnount of money. I've also seen an EL with one. But those BA ones by that Shaker company are expensive!

Sounds like a job for someone with a 6 cyl.
I'm gonna look into it.
I just really need to think about filtering the air. Will have a bugger all length to the throttle body. MMMM more power.

I've seen shackers on EF Xr8 donks, and on BA GT donks, so its definatly possible.

I'm trying to figure out how to do it with stock gear, hardest part will be getting the air from the shaker across to the filter box, from there its the standard run through to the throttle body, alot of pipework for sure from the shaker, and I'll probably lose any gains, unless I can figure out how to run a air duct from the shaker via an inline filter through the MAF to the TB in a tight "U" shape, plus I want the shaker to "rock" when hitting the pedal so I'm looking at mounting it to the engine, am I dreamin, probably.

I was having a think about this last night - there was an XY GT lookalike (black with silver stripes) that had a 5.0 retrofitted into it but still used the shaker.
I think you could make up an airbox under the shaker top with a stock flat panel filter and 1 pipe with two 90 elbows in a U shape and alleviate the standard airbox alltogether.

Have a look at Brett351's shaker setup he made for his XY, he users twin GRA LPG mixers, you would only need one outlet from the shaker.
