I'm getting a set of GT40Ps from a 220kw AU fitted shortly (with the roller rockers) and I'd like to know what spark plug to run. The standard EL XR8s had a 1.1 gap but the AUs had a 1.4 gap.
I'm not sure if I have to use the same as the AU because they have a completely different ignition system. I'm not sure if the ignition system on the my EL XR8 can handle a 1.4 gap. Will I need to upgrade the ignition as well?

I think the spark plugs on the GT40Ps are longer too.

find out what gap sprints and gt's run as their ignition system will be same or similar to yours.

i'm running au plugs in mine. running iridiums due to the fact that to change them i have to unbolt the headers so long life is the go for me. i don't bother gapping iridiums as the electrode is too sensitive and they are pretty close straight out the box anyways.

I've got BPR6EFS's in mine, same as gt/sprint, AU's take a TR55IX which is the same thing in an iridium. I gapped mine at 1.4mm.

Thats them I would gap at 1.1mm as with earlier models don't have the stronger ignition as the AU's have with DIS system...
As said on NGK site.. The more power the closser the gap...
Unless you have MSD or Crane ignition box...
