nope I know of several EF XR6's that dont have alloy tailshafts. Ive got the EL 185 ECU and mine isnt speed limited, and Mitch has an EL Ghia, which is the same, so maybe the 5tlr Ghia's werent speed limited too. When mine was an auto, it still had the 180 cut off

So how do you tell the difference in the tailshaft by looking at it?

so wot you guys are sayin is that the tail shaft is wot speed limits you so buy putting a alloy tailshaft in it becomes no rest6riced as to speed :? bit confusing as i have a ef fairmont 6banger and mine is speedlimited to 180 and i have a steel shaft so how can i remove speedlimiter wots it got to do with tailshafts :?

Are you some kind of imbecile??

Its not the shaft the sets the speed limit.. Its the fact that the steel shafts arent rated for over 180km/h that the car's ECU is set to limit speed to 180km/h...

The speed limiter is set in the ECU.. the ECU is set according to what driveshaft the car is originally fitted with..

But then again as if most e series (or most road going cars for that matter) cars are gonna be remotely safe over 180km/h...
