How do I get the coating off the engine cover, it seems to be a very tough baked on sort of finnish???

Has anyone done this????

Looks like its been stripped and chromed....

Would be expensive to get done but might be worth it by the look of yours....looks excellent!!!

No offence intended, but I don't particularly like it how one part is done and the other is so plain.

i will be getting the front bit done when i got a bit of spare coin and time but i know what ya mean, just dosent look right half crome and half black

have ya tried a sandblasting place?

not yet, but I feel it might cause more damage than good....will look into it a bit more and see.....

Wire brush then heaps of polishing...

Colourex in Huntingdale, Victoria can chemically strip it for you, I have had many items done there, and Mark is very good, at removing coatings gently.
You could post it to him to get done.

it doesnt take much to get it off, parts of mine rubbed of from just the underside of the bonnet n i took the rest off to make it all uniform.. couldnt re coat it like stock obviously lol

thats the problem I have....some parts have come off and the finnish is crap, so I want it all off and then may be paint it, or polish it .....for a nice and even finnish.

How did you get yours off?????
